Sasquatch Sightings and Donut Shop Locations

in the Pacific North West

Are you one of the lucky ones who have spotted Sasquatch (or Bigfoot) at some point in your life?  Thousands of people claim to have seen the large, hairy, human-like creature although there has never been any bones found or real footprints (there are some photos/videos!).

There are many theories about where Sasquatch lives, if they really exist, whether they are friendly or aggressive, and what they eat.  This map will allow us to test one particular theory about Sasquatch’s diet put out by James ‘Bobo’ Fay (Bigfoot caller & cast member of “Finding Bigfoot”) that (similar to Portlanders) Bigfoot loves donuts.

The question we will be exploring in this map is this: What is the (spatial) relationship between Sasquatch sightings in Oregon and donut shops?

This map uses Esri’s ArcGIS Pro 2.4 software and Microsoft Excel to create GIS data from Latitude and Longitude coordinates and addresses Geocoding.
